Spend the morning observing the beauty of the Kyles of Bute, revealed in incomparable views from the sea. As for lunch, the Black Bull bar in Rothsay does superb hot-plate steaks. Just watch out for the ferry, as the harbour is closed on approach! Alternatively push on for an early evening in the beautiful Loch Ranza, one of our personal highlights of Arran. A very sheltered bay in all but the most northerly of winds, a short trip ashore is typically in order to take in the tranquility of the local culture here.
If you`ve had to beat down to Loch Ranza from the Kyles, you should have a fantastic broad reaching/running leg back up to Kip after rounding the southern point of bute! You`ll pass Largs marina, then Fairlie Quay to starboard, just watch out for that ferry before passing Skelmorlie (see if you spot the measured mile off Skelmorlie - marked on charts) and finally making for the power station tower which marks the entrance to Kip marina.
