Clan is a comfortable 41 foot family cruiser, ideal for those looking for fast, safe passages in a luxury quality finished yacht. The J + J design team took Dufour into a new level with the introduction of this superb family cruising yacht and have managed to design for performance and pleasure providing stunning hull lines, clean rounded accommodation layout with solid teak decks. All sail management and trimming can be carried out from the shelter and comfort of the fully enclosed cockpit canopy to give relaxed cruising suited to our Scottish climate while enabling the skipper if desired to sail her single handed with the minimum of effort.
The cockpit canopy can quickly be packed away for more performance orientated sailing and with a feathered prop you get virtually no drag while under sail allowing fast cruising speeds - something she excels at! Under engine the four cylinder 55hp Volvo Penta ensures she has power in reserve, while the leather wheeled steering provides a positive feel with an unbelievably tight turning circle.
Down below you find exceptionally bright well finished accommodation with a spacious central saloon opposite an ergonomic fully fitted galley kitchen. 2010 Update: Now upgraded with electric heads, widescreen TV/DVD, and 240 volt inverter. Either side of the companion way are two large aft double cabins, with the option of an additional central double bunk. A particularly generous skippers double cabin is located forward of the saloon with its own private ensuite heads, shower and seating.
Sail on up Loch Fyne to the classic fishing village of Tarbert and on up to Inverary with its many attractions such as Inverary Castle, the Maritime Museum and the 19th century Inverary Jail. There are so many anchorages, visitors moorings, marinas, attractions, restaurants, bars, islands and sights on the Clyde to keep a family occupied for one or two weeks. And, it is safe, sheltered deep water sailing.
Clan is based at James Watt Dock Marina, Greenock on the river Clyde, providing immediate access to sheltered sailing in the Clyde estuary. You can cruise through the stunning Kyles of Bute to visit famous Scottish sailing grounds such as Tighnabruiach, Colintraive and Kames. Round Ardlamont point, on the Cowal peninsula, on to the amazing island of Arran, often called Scotland in miniature, where you can sail to Lochranza, anchor beside Lochranza Castle, row ashore and visit Isle of Arran Distillers.
